Emergent Behaviors in Music Composition

In this video, I demo my application of Boids to music composition, and talk about other uses of computers in live electronics music making. Boids, developed by Craig Reynolds in 1986, is an artificial life program, simulating the flocking behaviour of birds. Boids is an example of emergent behavior – the complexity of Boids arises from the interaction of individual agents.
